Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about local time and the converter.
How does checkmytime.top know my local time?
Your browser reports its configured time zone and current device time. The clock is then rendered locally in your browser.
Does the site need my GPS location?
No. The core clock and converter do not request precise GPS coordinates.
Do you use an external time API?
The core version does not need an external time API. It uses browser time-zone capabilities and standard IANA time-zone identifiers supported by the device.
Does the converter account for daylight saving time?
Where supported by your browser's time-zone data, conversions use the applicable daylight-saving rule for the selected date and zone.
Why can a displayed time differ from another device?
A device may have an incorrect clock, outdated time-zone data or a different selected time zone. For critical deadlines, verify the result with the relevant authority or service.
Why are there 249 countries and territories?
The country directory follows the ISO 3166-1 set of 249 country and territory entries.
Do I need an account?
No. The core tools are available without registration.
How can I report a problem?
Email [email protected] with the page, time zone, device/browser and a short description of the issue.
